Eiserman is a shooter, a one trick piney who has, never in his career, played an NHL, two way game.
Cole Eiserman is a huge “boom - bust” candidate and I would not want to see the Leafs use a #10th overall pick on him to say nothing of the fact that he is a LW and Leafs already have Knies, Cowan, Robertson, McMann on LW and will likely resign Bertuzzi.
I would like to see the Leafs use that #10 pick on Iginla (if he was somehow still available) which is not likely, even though Iginla is also a LW.
If not Carter Yakemchuk, Sam Dickinson, Beckett Sennecke, Konsta Heneius would all be safer picks than Cole Eiserman.
Evangelist s is another good player (physical with an edge) but is 6also a LW to add to Leafs growing list of LWs.
If Leafs were to trade Marner (who knows! ), then they would only have Nylander, Jarnkrok and Reaves as right wings going into next season.
Not very good balance in the lineup.
I would love to get Kunin from San Jose
To Leafs: Mario Ferraro, Luke Kunin
To San Jose: Kampf, Jarnkrok, Robertson, Liljegren
DeBrusk would also be a good addition but he is a LW not a RW and I, for one, and not a fan of shoehorning a left winger into the right wing, particularly on Leafs 1st line.

I don't think Evagelista has a mean bone in his body. He does not have any physical edge in his game from what I've seen.
Cowan has always played RW, even though he shoots left.
No desire to get Kunin either.
Love Ferarro though.
And I agree with your assessment on Eiserman.
If we get 10th pick, I would love Buium he he were still available.

Lots of young players are one trick ponies but can develop their 200’ game
What you can’t teach them is how to score
And Eiserman does that
Which is needed in the NHL.

As a right wing he would be a terrific addition.
As far as Cole Eiserman is concerned he has dropped from a consensus top 5 pick in most mock drafts at the start of the year to a #10 - #15 pick over the course of this past season.
I will trust in the opinions of all of scouts who make up these mock drafts.
If Eiserman has not learned anything about responsible, two way play by the time he is 18 is there much likelihood of him becoming a responsible, 2 way player after he turns pro?
I wouldn’t want to bet a 10th overall pick on it when there are a number of equally strong players projected to be available at that pick!

I like this deal. Carolina was a place I think Marner could end up. Kotkaniemi and Necas best years are ahead of them imo. Necas may be getting a little more than that. Close to Willy's first deal. 7X$7M?
Either or, Leafs get two top 9 players and a 1st for a top line winger and a 3rd pair RD. Could probably draft 2 good sized D with their picks or at least 1one D and a good forward. Also still have all their current cap space to add. Good prop.

Yes Tags I’m making trades on what I’d think would make the team better. Didn’t say anything about Nylander just put him in a trade. Is it gonna happen? No obviously, just like 99% of the trades on here but everyone is putting their opinion on what changes this team needs to be a contender. And this is me dealing with it, looking for ways out of Tre’s mistakes (again) on a Leafs website is how I handle it. ?.

Every time Buffalo comes over the blue line I think 50 50 chance a goal. That's how low I think of Samsievenov. He is moving way too much and therefore is out of position. Not square to the puck at all.

I wouldn't call up Hildebeast. Let him have at least a full year on the Marlies before doing that.
Sammy looks shaken. Not sure what can be done at this point to replace him unless, as you say, Hildebeast is called up though.

It’s either bring up Hildebeast or pick up a goalie. Not fair to the team when you put this guy in net like that. Makes great saves and then lets in a pooper. That should be his last game as a Leaf. I get everyone is saying protect Hildeby but my question is from what? Getting a couple starts in the NHL as a back up while Woll is hurt. Give him a start or two while Woll is out, what are we protecting him from? Opportunity? If he has a bad outing, give him a chance to rebound but rarely the kid will get shell shocked with pucks because the team will play much better in front of him. They always protect their young goalies. A small sample size of tue NHL can’t do anything but help the kid. See how hard you have to work to make it to this level.

At this point, send Sammy down and bring up Hildeby as a backup. As much as the team wants to support Samsonov, they know he is costing them games. The team stunk last night, but I don't think they would have stunk as bad if Samsonov wasn't so brutal. If someone claims him, so be it. Does anyone of us think Sammy is getting re-signed? I can't imagine anyone does, so if he goes now, he goes now and take the cap space. Even sending him down saves a little cap space with Hildeby called up. Woll played some NHL games as well before he was ready. In general, it is actually easier for the goalies when in the NHL than AHL because the play is way more predictable defensively.
Samsonov is a distraction. If he goes down, gets his game together, you call him back up later and send Hildeby back down. I think it would actually do Samsonov good to be away from the NHL pressure.
I said this a few time before and even at the time when Tree chose to take Sammy to arbitration, but Tree deserves credit for taking Sammy to arbitration and not bowing to pressure from the fan base to get Sammy signed to term. I didn't like the Klingberg signing or the term on Reaves, but his other moves have been solid.
Let's face it, Dubas would have signed Samsonov to $4M+ and with term. He was going to with Campbell as well, but got outbid.

My only issue with calling the beast up is leafs have a tendency to not protect young goalies and have really poor showings.
I think sparks posted a shut out in his first game but got lit up for 6 or 7 by the oilers his next game. Kaskisuo they played awful for. Even woll they had a rough first game for him, he was just up to the pressure.

Randy. I get that. My feeling is that playing Hildeby about 4 or 5 games until Woll gets back isn't likely to hurt his development. If he plays well, that's a massive bonus and if he is needed for the playoffs because of injury, he has some experience. Keeping Samsonov in the net, doesn't seem to benefit anyone. imo.
