Leafs trade Rielly, Robertson
Detroit trades Seider, Svechnikov, Rasmussen

Because I really want Seider bad.

Svechnikov and Rasmussen would be 4th line players similar to Gauthier. T
If we had those three on the same line, if would make for an effective checking line.

Svechnicov is a Carolina hurricane?

His brother. Evgeni. He's not as good as his younger brother though. But he is huge.

I think I’d rather Robertso and Reilly over that package. Rasmussen and Svechnikov have had a long time to break into the NHL in a meaningful way and it just hasn’t happened yet.

Svechnikov had that injury that kept him out for a year. That's a hard one to ever fully recover from at that age. Neither is an Yzerman pick, so I imagine that are available. I don't think their numbers are any worse than guys like Moore or Brooks or Brown were.

But I don't blame you for not wanting them. How about if it was Cholowski instead?

I really hate that injury. Svechnikov had some amazing potential.

I thought Rasmussen was going to be a good player too. He made the NHL at a young age and was putting up good numbers playing 3C. Has good size, but can actually skate well. And I don't mean skate well for a guy of his size. He is actually a good skater. I know he got injured too, but I don't think it was all that bad if I remember correctly.

Could just be one of them downward spiral things with Detroit too. The team sucks, which brings down the players, which in turn furthers the teams decline, and so on. The prospects you draft go to waste because the team is so bad. They never get the chance to be their best because they are surrounded by guys that ant elevate their play. A vicious circle that leaves teams like Buffalo and Arizona wallowing in the bottom of the league for years. Or even decades.
