You and I are on the same page. I love me some Tkachuk's.

I don't think Calgary or Ott take those though. Ott is definitely closer though. Marner's salary on a team against the cap just won't go over well. If it was a package that saw Johnny Hockey coming back along with Lucic and Tkachuk you may have better luck but would need to add something in that case.

Melnyk could probably be convinced to do this just so he doesn't have to pay Tkachuk lol.

Nice to get one of the Tkachuk's, but I doubt either team moves them in those deals.
Chi doesn't have the cap space for that deal and I am not sure if we get a prospect as high as Boqvist AND a 1st for Nylander anyway. Great if we could. Boqvist looks like he is going to be a heck of a D-man. In the NHL at 19 (sheltered minutes, but still impressive) . I think of him pretty close to Rielly at 19, plus Boqvist is a right shot which adds to his value a bit.

So my thoughts are,

Tkachuk-lucic =marner+dermott+lily

Kerfoot=bennett

Lucic being a negative in this situation, calgary walks away with more cap room.

Ottawa deal, they take a risk that robertson is the gem everyone thinks he is and not a polished turd. We add a 1st for the risk.

Chicago deal I was thinking about kapanens deal and the fact Chicago may over pay to get nylander. I also figured Chicago would move someone in a seperate deal. They may hope that 2 nylanders works out like 2 sedins, I know I've wanted the leafs to pick up lil nylander before to see.

I understand where the value is but with the uncertainty in the league I don't think you ever get value for Marner. If someone is traded I would prefer it to be Marner not Nylander for contract reasons but I think Marner just holds so much less value than he should based on that contract.
