To NYI: F - W. Nylander + D - T. Dermott + 2022 2nd

To TOR: D - R. Pulock + F - O. Wahlstrom + 2022 3rd

As Dobson has blossomed for the Isles and Pulock needing a new deal after this year, they trade for Nylander who had 3 more years left. The swap of Dermott for Wahlstrom are to balance and provide depth for each team with a young player. Dermott is 24 and Wahlstrom is 21.

I don't think the Islanders do this. Pulock is a top pair d-man and Wahlstrom is looking like a solid top 6 winger prospect. Plus they are giving us the higher pick. Switch Pulock for Pelech and I think that is closer.

If Nylander has to deal with Trotz he will be sitting out demanding a trade within a week.

On Toronto side nylander is a top 6 forward and would be top line on half the teams out there including New York. He has a good contract cap hit of 6.9 per with 3 years left. He is owed 14.5 over that same spand. He is also 25 so is right in his prime ready to explode this year

Pulock is 27 in October so is in his prime as well. In New York he was a top pair D but is 2nd pair on half the teams including Toronto. He is in final year of contract with 5 million cap hit and 5.16 owed to him.

Both teams add to their weaknesses but also lose what makes them strong. I personally think if it’s 1 for 1 the islanders throw in 2nd as age contract is on Toronto’s side so islanders owe.

However, Dermott for wahlstrom was thrown in here. Sk I’ll agree with RLF that now leafs owe islanders the higher puck but you did this by giving islanders a 2nd and leafs a 3rd. I think if you change islanders 2nd to a 3rd and give leafs no pick this deal might work.

Either way it’s a pretty good idea and well thought out.
