Leafs trade Nylander, Brodie, Robertson, Amirov, Murray and 1st rd pick 2024 for Karlsson 50% retained, Kevin Laban 50% retained and a 2nd round pick 2024

Leafs shed 5M in cap space and add a splash with a big name D man.

Leaves them with some space to make additional moves

I think this is what Dubas is trying to do in Pittsburgh. Why don't the Leafs let him do it and stay away from overpaying for Karlsson.

As RLF said, let Dubas have his offense only D. I don't want him unless it's 50% retained for free.

EK would be a great addition, but I think the TML should pass and focus on more grit and prospect coming back. There's plenty of fire power currently.

Personally I just do not wish to see Leafs invest so much in a 33 year old defenseman who has a long track record of serious injuries and 4 more years on his contract at $11.5 per year.
