Is bushnevich that far off from nylanders worth? bush puts up a bit over a point a game but can’t stay completely health 60-70 games per year. He scores less but plays way better defence.
The gap between faulk and brodies value is far too great for st. Louis to consider this I’d think.

The only selling point on this is bushnevich is owed 6.9 and 6.3 actual money vs his 5.85 cap hit (1.5 diff)
Faulk is owed 7.9 in actual money this year but then drops off to 4.75 4.5 4.5 in final 3 years on a 6.5 cap hit so once st. Louis gets through this year Faulk becomes a valued salary contract and he still puts up 50 points and is a plus player so can’t see Faulk being part of this deal

Nylander is only owed 2.5 actual money which makes his value sky rocket but only to non cap strapped teams that need to save every real dollars. Unfortunetly, st. Louis is not one of these teams. they are pretty rich and flex it when they can and are usually hovering around the cap
Other problem here is Brodie is owed 7.5. Yikes
No team will see value in that final year

Add in faults full no trade clause until 2025 that I don’t see him waiving and the 12 team no trade bush has that I think he has Toronto on due to he hated the media circus in New York so why would he want even a bigger circus.
and don’t forget both nylander and Brodie have 10 no trade list as well.
I’m sure stlouis wont be on nylanders but Brodie is older has a family so he might have thst location in his no zone.
And the final nail in the coffin is the 6 years worth of contracts vs 2 years worth of contracts being dealt.

St. Louis wants krug out and his contract cap value and length and trade clause restrictions are the same as Faulk except how he gets paid salary wise is differant as he is owed 8.5 8.5 6.5 and 6. That’s 29.5 million still owed to the guy. That’s 3.5 million more in actual money than his cap hit and his cap hit is a bit steep for a -26 guy. No wonder they wanna deal him. At least Faulk is still plays close to his cap hit and his final 3 years even if his play declines he’s only owed 13.7 in final 3 years. Krug not so much.
Krug is from Michigan so he just may consider knowing stlouis doesn’t want him why would u stay when u got a chance at something special. He has made the cup finals 2 times with Boston but lost both. I’m sure he has a bitter sweet taste in his mouth afterall he signed with stlouis 12 months after they best his bruins in the finals.

So to end thing long pointless dribble
Nylander Brodie for bush and Krug makes more sense on stlouis end as long as nylander has a deal in place before trade.

If still do this deal as Krug might have a rebound year and bushy boy I think Toronto fans just may fall in love with him. He’s of the Bertuzzi domi bread as he plays hard and wears his heart on his sleeve only he has more offensive flare.

Bush Matthews marner best defensive line candidate and since bush is a pass first fella Matthews might hit 70.
Yeah I’d take 4 years of Krug to get 2 years of the Russian bush.

Faulk is already 31 years old and Is a 3rd pairing defenseman, at best.
He is the last type/ style of defenseman Leafs need.

Buchnevich is a good player but another Left Wing of which Leafs have an abundance.
Leafs would need a right wing coming back in return to fill the slot vacated by the departure of Nylander.

Thanks but no!

Bush is “pass first”…. lol. Matthews has Marner for that. They need a go get the puck kinda guy on the left side.

Trying to get some different options since everyday it's like 2 or 3 trade targets on repeat.

The problem with Krug is he's LHD, Leafs have enough of those and need to upgrade a natural RHD big body who is more for being in position to compensate Reilly and cross over to throw in some one timers.
