you need salary going back like kampf with taev at 50% retained and I think a 3rd and a 4th swap is more fair cause leafs first and flames second will only be like 10-15 picks apart. Overall framework tho I think makes good sense.

@woods we have enough cap space to fit $4.7M, if we go down to 21 man roster. Either trade fringe players for draft picks or put them on waivers.

I just don't think Tanev changes the roster enough to matter. I know he's the hot commodity, and I may be in the minority here, but I wouldn't give up q 1st for someone that age.

Ferraro has always been the guy I want and still is. He's one of the few I give up a first for, because it's past this season and he isn't mid thirties.

@LL I know it's not ideal to trade our 1st, especially for an aging D-man, but it is a late 1st and I'm trying to get back a 2nd in this deal.
The Leafs chemistry is looking good lately, and I know it's a small sample size, but I don't want to change the rhythm they're in (just wish Keefe had tried changing the lines earlier in the year) .
Bringing in one top4RHD guy who would more than likely re-sign would not disrupt the chemistry we're in now.
We can puck up a solid 2LD in the summer to balance out the team moving forward.

Plus I do like Ferraro as well, but that would also mean trading roster player's and I think it's best to go with what we have ATM and add in the summer.
