Toronto trades JVR

Islanders trade 2017 first round pick

The islanders Ladd is stuck at 3 goals 3 assists New York need someone to lay left side with Tavaris. I don't think hey can wait much longer tanking is not possible there.

With Islagers first round pick the leafs with be a position to make deal at draft and select Timothy Liljegren.

The Leafs are really set up at forward with still a boatload of kids coming.I think this will be last season Leafs miss playoffs for a very long time so this offseason all they need to do is secure Timothy Lilgegren at draft table. Look for top defenceman at free agency and acquire another defenceman in a trade. By next year you have 3 new defenceman joining Reilly Zaitsev and gardener. Then your tweeting and waiting kids mature on road to Stanley cup.

I would want Pulock as well in the deal

I kinda like this deal, could give the leafs a chance at another high draft pick and also could make room for more kids next year because Bracco has been tearing up the OHL just like Marner last year

On the surface this looks like a great deal fro the Leafs; get a lottery pick to complement their own pick. This is not the same draft as the last two years. It's a weak one so unless that becomes a top 2 pick it's not worth it TBH. JVR is a bona fide first line winger who will get you 30 goals a year (depending on his centre of course).

There would also have to be some salary coming back to make this work.

Leafs could use there first and islanders first at draft table to get the top defenceman in top 5

With the Islanders being a bottom feeder right now, don't see them moving their 1st round pick in 2017. Maybe 2018 though.

Why would you trade a young stud in JVR for an unknown commodity in a weak draft? First line forward for a player who might or might not make the NHL.
