Trading Samsonov rights means nothing the CGY unless he indicates he will sign with them. In which case they can wait until July 1 and get him for nothing . Crosby retires a Penguin…. no doubt.

Samsonov just let's them have a solidish goalie. When you are trading your starter, rights mean a little more, hence why they were included. More of a courtesy than adding anything of real value.
Crosby it is hard to say if he retires a penguin, I also think he likely does, but he did say around the deadline he'd waive to go to Toronto or Colorado.

Pesce, at 29 years of age, is reportedly looking for that final, big contract with term 6 - 7 year at $6.5M - $7M.
I think Leafs might be better off financially to look at Matt Roy and/ or Sean Walker.

Kampf centering Nylander and Knies is a complete waste of Nylander’s and Knies’s talent.
Kampf is barely a 4th line center let alone a 3rd line center.

LL. He is easily a 4C. I have said with the right line mates, some big guys that can skate and forecheck (Knies and McMann for instance), that he could be a 3C on a line like that. I know I am on an island thinking that, but wouldn't be the first times I have been on an island in my evaluations.

I’m okay with Kampf as a 4C but at $2.4 it’s too much so I’d look for a lower paid 4C with some term and upside.
Kampf has been better lately though I’d like to see more physicality.

So hear me out, they should've started Jones against Detroit. And he should start the playoffs. Neither of our top 2 are playing well, and they are who is being scouted right now by Florida staff.
They can get a book on Jones pretty easily but it isn't what they've been working on.

Yes, Sammy had a pile of garbage in front of him, but sometimes you just need a save. That's the hug thing people seem to forget.
I cant think of the last goalie that won a cup, without stealing a game, making a key save he wasn't to blame for, that elevated play at the right time. If neither one can do that, then we'd better have the trap devils and Scotty Bowman if you want to win.

I would still start Woll. Nothing has changed for me. Woll's game is much quieter and built more for playoff hockey. I think the players may be even more confident with him in net.

The flip on Zegras is kind of funny, he had a bad season, but prior to this year, he was untouchable. I think he lies somewhere in the middle of where people had him before and where he is. I'd consider this trade with one more solid piece added from Anaheim.
