So this is a slight revamp of the forward core. The big move is bringing in. Rakell who's built well, hits, and put up solid points (playing with malkin more than Crosby) . The 3rd line is rebuilt, McLeod is 6'2 faceoff beast that hits and above average defeively. I see him taking JTs responsibilities thru out the year. Roy and domis weaknesses offset each other. The biggest issue is Joshua making his money on the 4th line but we have depth down the line up is a good problem to have. While still having some flexibility for another move for defense.

I have followed McLeod fairly closely after RLF had mentioned him in quite a few trade propsals before the Hockey Canada incidence was made public. BUT, I don't see the Leafs signing any of these 5 guys, even though they were acquitted.

As for the Pittsburgh deal, I think Dubas wants more than that (either a higher draft pick or one of our top prospects), especially since both Rakell & Rust have 3 years left on reasonable deals. And personally, I would rather target Rust. He is more well rounded IMO, plus PK's as well.

Sorry but I don’t see an improvement for 3C! Roy is MUCH better than McLeod, both defensively and especially offensively! Ntm, getting rid of McMann a 20 goal scorer for nothing!? Why are you revamping a 3rd line that just got revamped!? Like Rakell lots though!

Told: for Vegas last season Roy was 15 - 16 for 31 points in 71 games, -4, with a 47.7 fo%. 47 blocks 72 hits 20 take aways 58 giveaways with 53% d starts.

McLeod: 10 - 9 for 19 in 45 with +6, 65% fo, 22 blocks, 101 hits, 20 take 18 give. Starting 68.1% in the done.

Offensively yes Roy was given much better offensive zone starts 47% to 32%, for twice the points in 26 (about 40% more) games. Defensively Roy and McLeod pick up domis defensive liability while Domi brings speed that matches McLeod. And Roy would be like diet knies on the right side.

Oh and looking at the rust vs rakell numbers. Rakell has a better Corsi, Fenwick, and PDO. With rakell being 1 yr younger, smaller cap hit.
