So Edmonton Said their fourth overall pick is in play
I think bringing in Tkachuk is a brilliant idea as him and Marner are destroying the OHL as line mates. This could possibly smoothen both their transitions into the NHL, though Tkachuk might not be playing in the NHL next season. Saying this

Toronto: 4th overal pick
Edmonton: Gardiner, pits 1st and washingtons 2nd (60th) maybe SJ 4th if this isn't enough.

Gardiner and Pitt's first should be enough but who knows? Leafs should be looking at the 7-10 slot and nab one of those nice defenders available. Juolevi would be Hunter's choice I think.

Gardiner is not a player the Oilers want. He has trouble defending, and has yet to play consistently. Both are very big holes in the Oilers play now.

The Oilers need a 26 year old(ish) defenseman who has playoff experience. Someone who can turn into a leader. Shattenkirk comes to mind - he's played with great leaders and would fill the Oilers need much better.

The only chance the Leafs have at this pick is to flip their late first rounder for someone the Oilers would take. Bozak, a prospect and the Pitts 1st rounder is a hard package to pass up for Shattenkirk. You could then make a play for the 4th. Lots of leg work though.

We need Defence too u know. No need for Tkachuk. We have a tune of wingers already

My thoughts are Edmonton only will trade the pick from a proven D-man or top quality D-man prospect, ie Provorov or either pick a D or trade down a couple slots, not much more. They want to walk away from this draft with a top end young D player
