None of those guys alone are worth a 1st. And pairing them together in a trade will not get you a first either.

For example, looking at your first trade: Johnsson is worth a third, and that’s all he will get you. Dermott is worth a 3rd. That’s all he will get you. And combined you would get, you guessed it, 2x3rd, not a 1st.

Same situation in the other two trades.

Sometimes the whole is worth more than the sum of the parts. But not in hockey trades. The sum of the parts is worth exactly that, and nothing more.

Johnson isn't traded yet because someone was willing to slightly overpay for Kappy. They aren't for Johnson. It just isn't in the cards. Dubas will be basically giving him away after the season just he just had.

The entire reason I wouldn't trade Dermott is he won't cost much and I believe LGM is correct, he's worth maybe a third. I see no reason why Sandin can't spend an extra year developing or Dermott and Sandin play bottom pair together if Liljigren isn't ready. Dermott on the right side playing 3rd pairing is not an issue to me.

Can’t see Florida giving up a 1st round pick for Kerfoot a 3rd like C/ LW and Holl a 3rd pairing defenseman.

First one, don't NJ to do that, but With 3 1sts this year and they want D and Dermott has second pair potential and should be bridged fairly cheap. All depends on how bad NJ wants to improve now.

Second one. I think is possible. You filled two needs for Calgary. Goaltending and right Defence. Leafs would have to know they can replace Anderson before they even consider this and Calgary would have to believe Freddie can help now and Liljegren is ready.

Third one. Can't see Florida doing it. No need for more RD and Kerfoot is not a pressing need for them.
