Blockbuster Trade Proposal

Maple Leafs trade William Nylander and Jake Muzzin to the Predators for Filip Forsberg and Mattias Ekholm.

Who adds? Who subtracts?

Change of scenery for all players involved. Who wins? Who loses?

Probably somewhere near even. Nylander is signed longer than Forsberg which makes up the difference between Muzzin and Ekholm.

Yea this one is close for me too you can make the argument that nylander might be better then Forsberg going by stats and Willy is younger with more term but I think ekholm is better then muzzin idk if Nashville does it Willy doesn’t seem like a good fit plus they are adding salary on both Toronto players to me I think Nashville would have to add something because right now Forsberg is a rental.

not sure Ekholm is looking for change of scenery. didn't he just resign before the season? didn't even test free agency.

I don’t think one could ever propose a trade that wasn’t MORE even.

Think it comes down to whether either team sees any benefit or reason to pull the trigger.

Both Forsberg and Ekholm need new contacts next year while the two Leaf players have two more years.

I think I would look elsewhere for opportunity because the Leafs probably could not sign both Predict players next year and maybe not even one!

Yes RLF Ekholm did sign extension earlier; I had forgotten.

It’s still not a trade I’d do.

Rsears. Not saying that would change your mind because Ekholm is signed. You mentioned that the Leafs would have to sign both players, I was just noting that they don't need to re-sign Ekholm.
