Toronto swaps one pending UFA for another, but a different type of player. No way Wilson will have an extension ask that Willy does. Iorio is a D prospect I really like. A little bit unknown, but he could be a top 4 D if he keeps developing.

If you wanted that enforcer, the leafs should have kept douglas and used him sparingly.
Would rather Ross Johnston playing 4th line minutes than that idiot Wilson on the team.

The narrative that Wilson is pretty much done is foolish. Yes, he just turned 29, but has actually been quite durable. He came back off injury and produced quite well. Plus the Leafs get Iorio. That is not a minor add. Most likely most have no clue who he is and therefore look right past that part.

If you thought Kadri had a target on his back because of issues with the league, stand back because Wilson makes him look like a novice.
