I like the trade pick ups and I agree with the line combos. McMann on the top line getting the big boys the puck and I agree with domi on the 2nd line in a more offensive roll with Jonny T for defensive zone draws. 4 lines that won’t be pushed around.

Why does Nashville do that trade?

Mph. Trenin is a pending UFA while Jarnkrok has term and likely cost less or no more than re-signing Trenin. Jarnkrok the better point producer and Trenin the more Physical.

So Nashville don’t protect jankrok and Seattle takes him. Do u think Nashville might be on his 10 team no trade list

Also signing bonuses are a no no in Nashville. Only 3 guys have ever had them. duchene, forsberg and josi.

Don t know if they wanna do same for jankrok. Especially with 7.65 in dead money being handed out. Yes it’s only 1.35 million but that’s 1 lump sum not spread over 52 weeks.

Still like traded though smart for both teams if there wasn’t history between the player and team.

You have a point on the history. New management though. I don't think the not being protected thing is that huge a deal. You can only protect a few players and most mid 6 players know they were going to be unprotected, but you may be right and there are hard feelings. I don't think Nashville is on many players no trade lists.

Nashville needs to get younger not older,
I can not see them trading Trenin for Jarnkrok.
What little benefit they may receive cap wise does not justify the age difference.

Waterbuffalo.

If Nashville is looking to get younger than why did they sign O'Reilly, Nyquist and Schenn and give them all term this past off-season?
Jarnkrok is the better point producer over Trenin and can play PP and PK. He is a very good player on a very good contract and the Preds could use more scoring. Getting a top 9 forward with 2 more years term on a good contract for another top 9 forward who is a pending UFA is a smart move. Wouldn't you like the Leafs to trade say Domi for another good 3rd line C that has term which costs less then what it would likely cost to re-sign Domi?
