Stolarz skating again which is a good sign. Hearing analysts and reporters (Kyperos) say putting hildeby up as trade bait to get a dman but I would rather get rid of STOL who’s signed to a great aav and keep the younger guy. When he comes back and if he plays like he did last year or close to it which was stellar his value will be big for teams looking for upgrades.

To Tor
1st and 2nd 2026
To SJS
Stolarz
Or
To Tor
Sennecke
Luneau
2nd 2027
To Ana
Stolarz

I say forget the dman and grab picks and prospects for him. 2 teams in playoff spots with bad goaltending. Sure they would be willing to pay a good price for STOL with playoff experience and a cup in his resume.

I think your evaluation is a bit tough here the leafs won’t get that big of a return for any of our goalies as goalies don’t tend to hold a lot of trade value.

Are you serious? A goalie with a low GAA and a save percentage above .900 signed to a great aav is not worth that to a team that has bad goaltenders with gaa above 3.00 and a save percentage below .900 I think they would jump especially cause they r deep in picks and prospects. That’s why I chose these 2 teams.

I can’t see any team giving up a return like that for Stolarz.
Goaltenders historically don’t bring big returns and Stolarz isn’t a Shesterkin or Hellebuyck.
Dreaming in technicolor!

Not with injury history and no prof he can stay healthy you show me a trade where a team acquired a goalie for top picks and prospects you might be able to get a 1st for stolarz.

Ok you guys will see. If he comes back healthy and starts playing the way he did last year. Teams like Vegas, ducks SJS and Car will pay. Goaltending has become a big problem for lots of teams contending. Binnigton will fetch a good return and his numbers are atrocious. If u think Grier won’t pay a first and a second when he has multiples of each pick then u guys aren’t reading the market. If Stolarz becomes available a bidding war will ensue at the deadline for him. Last 2 years he’s been lights out and a cup winner. There’s a reason Bennett knocked him out last year in the playoffs, they would have lost the series if he finished the series.

You obviously don't watch hockey we don't have a 1st round or 2nd round pick in 26.

How about noting which 1st and 2nd you are referring to then. Is it SJ's? The highest 1st and 2nd or the lowest?
Personally, if Stolarz is worth that much, I'd rather Wetsch and a 1st, but I don't think SJ would.

Johnny57 San Jose which is the team I suggested would give that up has 2 of each in 2026. So I do watch hockey and do my homework b4 posting. You should do the same. RLF I don’t care if it’s the higher picks they are still a first and 2nd that can be flipped to get what u need or kept to assure u have a first rd pick in the draft this year.

The picks matter in evaluating the trade. For instance, A 12th OA pick is much more valuable than a 29th OA pick. That 12th could have the same value as a late 1st and late 2nd.

Edmonton 1st rounder will be in 20s and Colorado 2nd rounder will be in 60s plus there’s Florida’s 4th rounder in the 100 teens they could easily dangle.
If Stolarz wasn’t signed and was just a ufa at seasons end due to his 1 million bonus and more salary went on the 24-25 season he’s only owed 1.25 fit year so only 650K left that would be worthy of a 2nd and 4th easy. Problem is he signed a 4 year deal that’s very signing bonus heavy. 11 million (4.2,2.9,2,2) that’s due September 28th of every season. Some teams just don’t have that kind of cash laying around in fact san Jose has made many deals to aquire injured or older players but all of them have next to no salary left to owe so grabbing picks for these players was worth it. Next season thst 4.3 owed in September is a killer for half the teams and his 3.5 cap hit is a killer for the rest. Until final year of that new contract arrived when most of the money owed is already paid that’s when teams trying to hit cap floor will come knocking, until then his contract is a trade killer. You’d have to give them picks just to take on his contract. Woll and his contract are the most trade able of the goalies and he may fetch that Edmonton 1st Colorado 2nd and maybe a Florida 4th due to age and contract structure. But then I ask do u feel safe with Stolarz and Hildeby.

The R1&2 order does of course matter.
I’m fine with getting the second pick in each round for Stolarz.
Hildeby has earned the promotion in my view.
Let’s get started on the re-tooling already!
