For taking on mangiapane contract and the fact that mcmann is a 15-25 goal guy it’s gonna cost Edmonton a 1st I think what valuable about mcmann also is that he makes 1.35 almost all contenders can make that money work truthfully I’d wait till the deadline to trade him but if someone steps up make the deal.

If McMann continues to produce, there should be no need to take back a contract. He should be owed very little and cost very little against the cap as is. He should get a 1st or 2nd and 3rd type of return.

Get real, put yourself in the other organizations shoes and not just the Leafs. Each trade makes no sense and in no world would some of these trades happen.

Bbbbbbbbut guys like McMann often get a 1st or a 2nd and 3rd at the deadline. The 1sts are late 1sts, no one is suggesting he gets a top 10 pick as a return.
Of course pretty much all of these trades will never happen. No different than any other teams sites.

You guys bare all messed up. Bobby is one of the few guys I am not trading. He is a guy with heart. We don’t have many of those, so why we trading the few that do? Like seriously though. I know you guys are trying to get some capital back but do that through Austin, Nylander and Mo. not McMann.

Would be stupid to move Bobby. Berube is not playing hm like he should. One of the faster players in the league but never used on PK, 3 n 3 and barely PP. Give him opportunity and see what he can do with it before you just go and ship him away for Mangiapane?

Clarky. I don't want Mangi. My point was that he would get a 1st. I have been a McMann supporter way before he was Leaf, but if your rebuilding by trading all the big guys, no use keeping McMann as by the time the Leafs would be competitive, he will be past his best years. If retooling, sure re-sign him.

@clarky I like mcmann but his fire has fizzled out as of late he’s gonna be 30 I don’t think the leafs want to pay him what he wants… and they are not trading big guys yet because then that triggers a rebuild which then makes a mcmann extension even more less likely.

@Clarky I agree man, McMann does play with Heart and we are flatlining with the rest of the so called leaders and other higher paid players. I also agree we recoup/ retool using Nylander and Mo and potentially Matthews. Which some could take as us signalling rebuild but with the right young future studs we get, team could bounce right back to hard to play against/ beat squad we’ve been wanting. Better then heartless millionaires figure skating every night.

As far as McMann and re-signing him, if the Leafs trade Matthews, Nylander, OEL, etc, why would he want to re-sign with the Leafs? He's going on 30. His window to win is not forever. He signs with the Leafs after they trade off all those guys and the Leafs are likely minimum 2-3 years away from even being a playoff team, never mind a contender.

You’re not trading nylander or Matthews. You are going to move pieces that are on expiring contracts or have value now and signed to good contracts. OEL stock very high right now that’s why u trade him. Mcmann and Laughton are going to want raises and some term to secure future. If that number is too high you trade them so u don’t lose them for nothing. Out of the core the only guy u r asking to wave is Reilly. Whether for now or in the offseason but he needs to go for sure. Then u r looking at your RFAS Maccelli and Robertson who ppl believe want to be here but in reality they dont so move on. One of 3 goalies would be nice to be Stolarz but no one taking him if he doesn’t show he’s back to form. They will ask for one of the younger guys. Carlo has been playing well is not old and has another year left at a good aav. You clear cap and restock shelves. With that u retool your roster for next season. Between free agency draft and trades. Oh ya if u can get rid of Domi and Joshua for whatever u can get u take it. You don’t take Mangiapane.

I'd keep mcmann domi laughton tanev nylander joshua maccille knies oel Robertson Cowan stecher, and trade the rest lol. I think these players are willing to buy in and play hard trade the rest and get some players with talent that are willing to do the same.

Trying to be funny again JB? Cause if your are no one is laughing. Other than Nylander, Cowan and Knies everyone else u listed is tradable. Oh ya and Tanev cause no one wants an old broken d man that’s about to announce retirement due to injuries like Muzzin did.
