I absolutely love Hagel but I don’t think it’s enough from TB. I also wouldn’t want to trade any of our stars to anyone in the East. Maybe with the add of top prospect or 1st rd pick on top, maybe. But this is how you change the identity. Like the idea RLF.

Gary, if trading Matthews, likely move Willy as well. SJ and Anaheim would be good landing spots as I have mentioned for a long time. If SJ, I would want Misa+. If Anaheim, I would want MacTavish+.
It would be
Cirelli, JT, Misa/MacT.
Also have Hagel to replace Willy.
The +'s could involve D-men coming back as well.

I wouldn’t trade for MacT. I don’t see how he would make this a better team.

Leafsgm. Just my belief, but I believe MacT is a much better player and is being underutilized in Anaheim. Put him on a team where he is given a real chance to play an important role and I think he can flourish. I think many forget it was only two years ago that he was looked upon as a young leader on that team.

Trading Matthews in division is a bold move, sir! But it’s an interesting idea. Everyone expects that if the Leafs were to move Matthews that it would be for picks and prospects, triggering a rebuild, but why can’t it be star for star, much like the Rantanen-Necas deal?

If you are trading a star player from the roster u r getting a future star player back. McTavish is not that player. It’s either Carlsson, Gauthier, or Sennecke coming back. Not McTavish.

Didn’t the Ducks make the playoffs, which would make them a better team than us, and not know which direction the Leafs are leaning? This team may not be the “better” team MacT would be better off joining. My evaluation is he’s a bottom six player all day long.

I never said Toronto is the better team, hence he would have a better opportunity in Toronto as they don't have as many guys at C that are young and ahead of him. If he ends up a high end 3C or low end 2C, so be it. The +(+'s) Leafs would get in the deal would be at least one top prospect/young player.
