If you were a fan of the Red Wings would you be ok with this trade…? If the Leafs are getting Edvisson the package looks like a 1st good young prospect and probably a roster player most likely a dman.

Van is on Rielly's NTC. And Rielly (and the Leafs defense in general) haven't been bad, really. We've just been snake but offensive. Lots of posts. JT is having some issues keeping pace so far this season and it shows in the shots category. He's also God-awful on the faceoff circle. Rielly's looking in decent offensive form, and the new systems really work with his skating.

The only package I see working for Edvinsson is:

Col 1st+Cowan

Or if they want s future D-man back it's Col 1st+Danford+Tinus.

Edvinsson is being a bit overrated right now by the media.

He is 6'6, but doesn't hit and isn't overly physical, nor is he offensive. Very good young D and worth a lot, but I'm not sure what I'd give up for him unless I thought he was that last missing piece for a cup run.

Highly unlikely the Leafs get Edvinsson.
Red Wings want offense and youth.
If the Leafs trade for a d-man, Reilly needs to go the other way.
It won't happen during the season.
