When I look at LA's start and their roster, it doesn't look good. An aging Doughty still playing 20 mins a night. Two older goaltenders, an aging forward group and not a lot of young star type players on the roster.
Makes me wonder if things keep going bad, will they start to look at making moves and if so, could Mikey Anderson become available. He is not the big bruiser type, but plays physical, good motor and very good shutdown guy that can move the puck as well. He went from playing over 20 mins a night for the last 6 years to only 17+ this season. Laviolette has him on the 3rd pair most nights after playing so many years on the 1st pair with Doughty. He can't be happy about that.

What's Anderson worth? He would certainly fill a void for the Leafs, only 27 and signed long term at $4.125M per.

I like the target. I'm not sure his worth. I feel like Joshua would have to go the other way for Cap purposes. Maybe
Joshua
1st
Prospect (Johansson?)

I would love to hear other people's thoughts on this as well!

27 years old and still called Mikey? ?

I agree with Leafs forever
Joshua for sure is in the trade.
If not him then OEL.
Then add Haymes and Bilecki?

Nice post, RLF.
Never thought of him but he would be a nice add.

I'd prefer Luneau from the Ducks I think it is.

20+ minutes a night.

Why didn't anyone mention him before?

After last night's collapse something needs to happen soon cause Stetcher -3 and Reilly -2.
These guys are dumpster fires. Issue is the way Reilly is playing he needs to be packaged in a bigger deal with prospect or Col 1st plus some retention.

Stetcher can be also just thrown in on a bigger deal. Chayka needs to get things going. Supposedly that Raty move was to open up a NHL contract space on the 50 man limit they’ve at 49 right now so let’s see what he has in the works.

Leafs Life, to answer your question he just got signed to a new contract worth over $7m and frankly has done nothing to prove he deserves it other than he’s young. He’s a third pairing guy who has 14 games NHL experience in 3 seasons prior to this one and in 6 games this season has 1a.

It’s his last season at 865k b4 $7.2m for the next 5 seasons kicks in. No thank you.

@LL Anaheim won't trade a guy they just extended 2 weeks ago.

Champ and Hrenklin. It's a joke. I am pretty sure LL's comments were because for a few years I have pushed for getting Luneau. Back to when he was still in Junior. Noe he gets the big contract out of the blue and playing 20+ mins a night. He is not a 3rd pair guy. He is a top 4 talent. He is being put in a more defensive role and is an offence d-man.

Almost no PP time and playing PK. Not the best situation for him, but Anaheim doesn't really have much choice. He is being thrown into the fire and pretty obvious the Ducks see massive value in him as well. He could very well end up being a steal at $7.2M. Worst case scenario, he becomes a 2nd pair D-man and his $7.2M will be fair.

Look at his track record. Coulda would shoulda. Not taking a chance on a guy who got paid b4 proving he’s worth it. Ducks can keep him.

This was all before the contract and it is moot anyway. They aren't moving him.
His track record is actually quite good though, so not sure what that means.
