Why would petro agree to this? Players want to be competitive so he knows if rielly must go in order to have him be a leaf why would he want st. louis to gain and leafs not gain.

If he truely wants to be a leaf he will want the organisation to get the best package for his future with the team. Rielly for himself doesn't do this.

Rielly for prospects and picks will do this

Yea, you would think the idea of coming here and playing on a D-core that has Rielly and Muzzin already with some promising young D is appealing to Piet. Add in Matthews, Marner, Tavares up front.
Can't see why he would want Rielly or Muzzin gone to come here.

Dolt. Are you seriously trying to imply Armstrong would a) retain $1M salary for 8 years and b) willing to sing Pietrangelo to a deal with signing bonuses and NMC, all with the intention of trading him immediately after?

I’ve put up a few head scratchers before. Even some outright laughers. But this one takes the cake. Without a doubt this is the dumbest thing Armstrong could do. Let lone just how dumb it is for the Leafs. If two teams could do something stupid they would both regret, this would be it.
