Wennberg is signed for this year for $4.5M, Leafs save about $2.5M in cap space for this season and he's a UFA.

Leafs add Wright and a 1st for moving forward. Leafs will have 2 1sts plus prospects not named Wright to move.

Wright replaces Wennberg next season and possibly this year

Seattle gets their top line RW they want and need.

I saw this article earlier, and I'm really not sure.

Shane Wright was hyped (almost) as much as Bedard. He's only one year removed from his rookie season, and still can become a superstar.

Wennberg is a solid player. Not a superstar, but he's good.

Then they throw in a first? For a guy that wants 10m+ AND has only one year left?

I can't see Seattle doing this. It's a lot to pay for a pending UFA.

It could be a sign and deal for Nylander in Seattle. But I'm not sure Seattle would want to include Wright in the package.
It could be Wennberg with Bjornstrand.

Any team that has knies as their top left wingers is a team that isn't making the playoffs.
Give the kid a break. If he makes it on the third line, that will be a bonus.
