Ryan O’Reilly’s plus/ minus is - 28 in 37 games this season.
ROR has 10 goals and 18 points through those 37 games.
I don’t see that helping Toronto’s playoff hopes.
Plus giving up another 1st round pick for a rental (see Nick Foligno and how that worked out) is just not the right move for a non difference maker.
The only rental I could see giving up a 1st round pick for is Timo Meir and even then it would be a difficult move to justify with only one “A” prospect (Matthew Knies) in Leafs thin prospect pool.

Last I heard, Kadri may get in the range of 9 million on a 7 year deal and he's a bit older. That's probably what JT is looking for.
