I just don't see how Domi is going to cut the mustard in Toronto

Where do you guys have Domi playing Robertson has to be on top three lines. He is more of a point producer than Domi and better in his own end

Holmberg is on the rise I think he bypasses Kampf on the depth chart

Then you have

Abruzzese Steeves McMann

Pressing for jobs

I'm not sure if Holmberg needs waivers to be sent down or Robertson

But let's face facts those two players are too good for the AHL

@DM What has Robertson done other than never score and get hurt, to indicate to you that he is too good for the AHL?

@LL I'm not sure what DM is smoking, but maybe he can pass some my way lol.
I think it's best for Robertson's development to start in the AHL, play meaningful injury free minutes and maybe get called up in December/ January if warranted.
BTW both Robertson and Holmberg are waiver exempt.

Robertson is a projection, at this point. Domi has put up points at the NHL level. They are 2 totally different players, so it's not fair to compare them. Domi brings an element the leafs desperately need and Robertson does not have, toughness. Could we use Dumba over Domi, I would say you could argue that. Our defense needs upgrading.

Robertson has played 31 games in the NHL, has 7 points
Domi, last year alone, had 56 points and for his career has 370 points.

Not sure what you are referring to?

Ideally, Domi will play 3rd line center for the Leafs and Holmberg will be the spare or since he doesn’t have to pass through waivers might well be headed to the Marlies to help Leafs become cap compliant.

Robertson is still completely unproven at the NHL level. He may score 30 goals in the league one day. He may get injured again and again and never work out. If Domi’s last name was Smith these conversations wouldn’t be happening. At best he’s a slight upgrade on Kerfoot. At worst he’ll sit in the press box. Reaves signing will prove meaningless. Klinberg signing will be okay but too much money. The one that matters is Bertuzzi. He could/ should score 30 plus with the opportunity he’ll be given.

We’ve been on the “verge of winning” for 5 years and have only won one playoff round. They need to prove more in the playoffs before we can say they’re on the verge. Even that first round win didn’t mean much after getting dusted by Florida.

Domi's value over Kerfoot will show up in the playoffs, when the Leafs typically get pushed around. I wouldn't call the Reeves signing meaningless. The peace of mind he'll bring the entire team on the ice and bonding off the ice, could be invaluable. Never hurts to have the heavy weight champ on your side. Our goalies might stay healthy at the very least.

If Reaves is in your playoff lineup there’s a problem. Can’t afford to waste a spot on a guy playing 4 minutes a night or less.
