Reilly barrie will have some very good nights and some very bad ones. But it would be exciting. I think muzzin would be a good mentor for fleury

The Jets trade is interesting. They really do need help on defense, and even though Ceci isn’t optimal, he is a pending UFA after this year, so they can choose to keep him or not. That flexibility might be enough for them to take this offer. It’s not like it is affecting their roster or mortgaging the future. Low risk/ high reward style trade for Winnipeg.

Kapanen for Fleury straight up I don’t think Leafs would do. Fleury is probably nhl quality defenseman now. He keeps getting screwed over by Waddell’s obsession with defensemen. Not sure why he keeps his own handpicked players stuck in the minors while he trades away talent to bring in even more defensemen. Signing guys like Gardiner and deHaan when he still has high quality prospect players like Fleury and Bean coming up he should be using.

Fleury is too unproven for my liking. Not at all the level of quality I would expect in return for Kapanen. It’s got to be somebody who is at least a roster player. We probably can’t get a player as good as Pesce anymore, but we could maybe get a Ristolainen or a Zadorov for Kappy+.

I would love to see the leafs trade for bean.

Bean has a history of concussions. I can’t remember when his last one was. But if it was less than three years ago, we should probably avoid him.
