I'll admit it probably takes more to get vatrano but he's a player I'm targeting simply because he seems like a guy that is being buried because of their young guy emerging not because he's a bad player.

The Pageau trade is one I've been throwing out there since last year when they had no centre's he'd be a rental most likely but it gives the leafs a guy to play with Laughton he has a strong two way game plays physical and would improve the pk so the leafs don't have to use Matthews there anymore I like Robby he's come along way but he's too inconsistent and he's an offensive guy who's always gonna be buried in the bottom six

But both these trade is make "if" the leafs are in or close to a playoff spot come January

Leafs don’t have the assets to get that done without moving Cowan and or danford which I don’t think the leafs are willing to do so how do they get a top 6 guy my solution is build an even strong team with more depth vatrano is more than capable of playing in a top six role was an all star not long ago and put up 3 consecutive 20+ goal seasons the last three years.
