I simply can’t see Dubas giving up a 2nd round draft pick?
Maybe, he used a 2nd round pick pick to draft Robertson.
Heinen is another LW when Leafs already have Knies, Cowan, Joshua, Lorentz, McMann, Maccelli as well as Robertson on the left side.
Meanwhile, Leafs have only Nylander and Jarnkrok manning RW.

I would prefer to see Robertson go to the Penguins for Justin Brazeau who would be a perfect fit as Leafs 4th line, RW.

Perhaps you’re right.

Robertson was the youngest player picked in the draft that year and would have an early 1stR the next year.

And Dubas drafted Robertson I believe.

Heinen also plays C, has good speed and a good battler; unlike Maccelli who I’d trade anywhere for a late draft pick in ‘26.

WB …. leafs don’t need yet another 4th line player. Focus needs to be a RW for Matthews and Knies, and another D.
