A lot of people have been saying that Leo Komarov could be traded as his value is the highest it will ever be. I agree with the value part, but I am not sure that we need to get rid of him; he is a great leader and veteran presence, to show the young kids around. Even so, I think a potential deal could be as follows:

TOR: FLA First Round Pick (23)
FLA Sixth Round Pick
FLA: Leo Komarov
Jared Cowen

Toronto gets two picks, which Mark Hunter will make work, or we can include them in deals to move up. Leo Lomarov has he highest value he has ever had or will ever have coming off of a fairly sheltered season. Florida has around $20,000,000 to spend resigning or to use on free agency. After they do that, they will likely have a little amount of money left. Jared Cowen could give them salary cap relief by puttIng him on LTIR. Komarov also fits their team mold. As Florida has constructed a team mixed with some high upside young players with effective veterans headlined by the immortal Jaromir Jagr, Komarov will got in greatly with the mold of the team.

Overall, while we don't need to trade him, Komarov can get some value on the trade market

This is my first post, so I don't really know if this can be really good, or terrible. Please let me know any suggestions and add-ons to the trade.

Decent first attempt, but I don't think the values are right. Toronto probably needs to add a B level prospect or a 3rd Rd pick on that, because while Komarov has value, I don't think it's 1st round, and Tallon is a savvy GM, so I don't think FLA would go for it as is. Like that you put thought into what benefits both teams though.

Uncle Leo stays!

Name someone not up from the Marlies that actually threw more than 1 check in a game last season. The man is a "golden steal" (sorry silver) at 3M per year until 2019.

Plays harder than guys 5 years his junior. For a playoff team; clearly worth a 1st rounder by himself. Do not under sell him. Next to Laine, who was the best on the Finns? Who was the best player on the Leafs this year? Who went to the All-star game.

And he can score! Who knew? Would like to see him regularly on the 3rd line with Kadri and Soshnikov as a "pest line".

Of all the Vets, him we keep. That is unless we get a high 1st rounder for him.

not getting a high 1st rounder for Leo. great guy, works hard etc. but not worth that high a pick.

I get that it is highly unlikely that Pittsburgh will want to trade Matt Murray, but what would he cost if we were to get him? If we got him it would probably be at the expansion draft, as Marc-André Fleury has a no-movement clause. I was reading an article saying that it would take something near JVR's value, but that was before his playoff breakout. What would he cost now?

Murray isn't worth JVR. JVR will, I hope, stay with leafs. Murray played well behind a well-balanced team. He would be nowhere near what he accomplished this year. I like him but Murray alone will not get JVR.

what I meant to say that Murray's success would have been different if he were in Toronto. he is a good goalie, but straight up for JVR. No.

I read an article today saying before the playoffs, it would have taken JVR to get Matt Murray. Since he played very well in the playoffs, what would it take to get him now?

@Puck it! But many of those goalies were not coveted prospects rising through the system

If we ever get stamkos, we will NEVER trade him, unless it is an offer we can never deny and even if we did get him and trade him, again, very unlikely, you can be sure it will never be for a 5th rounder. If this ever happened, Whoch it won't, but just for value purposes, I would request from either the Penguins or the flyers a pckage around Murray and some prospects, or gostisbehere and/or provorov with potential prospects

Bowey has bad character and I am not sure if our management wants someone like that. I believe during a marlies game he directed a homophobic slur to Kapanen.

We are not trading picks, prospects or young guys for good players to send the team into win now mode. We are in a rebuild, and the management will not cheat it.
