Toronto: Jake Gardner
Colorado: 10th overall
Mike Chambers of the Denver Post suggests that, "The Avs covey the 24-year-old former first-round Anaheim draft pick, who could use some new scenery".
Gardner was supposed to be the centrepiece in a ROR deal, but because the Leafs are now in a rebuild, a player like ROR is needed less than an 18 year old prospect.
Maybe Toronto needs to add, but I think a deal involving these pieces could be possible.

Still wouldn't mind seeing ROR he's 23 and could be a nice second line asset 3-5 years from now still

Only a 10th is a joke, Gardiner is an everyday top 4 dman on most teams. He is only going to get better. Kadri was a 7th and look how long it's taken him to establish himself. A 10th could be 4 or 5 years from showing up or not at all. Colorado adds or I keep Gardiner all day.

Leafs sign Daniel Winnik to a one year deal. Solid pickup.
1.) Who clicks 'unbelievable' on a deal that has already happened and is all over the media?
2.) ^ maybe they don't believe they would sign another winger. Not disagreeing that the leafs actually did sign someone. Just that they don't understand why the leafs did that.
3.) They did it because a trades going to happen soon. Obviously!

I heard Bozak/Kadri, Dion (not Gardner), and 24 for Semin, Skinner and 5.
Could you imagine having #4 AND #5 in a great draft. I assume they take Marner to 4. Do you think Toronto would take Hannifin or Provorov at 5?
