He never said he would not play for the leafs. He said he won't play for a Canadian team. And this was fake.

Even if this was true (which it is not), there would be no team willing to overpay because they know that the leafs would have to take what they can get or lose him for nothing.

He never said that he wouldn't play for the Leafs and he never said that he wouldn't play for a Canadian team. In fact, he didn't say anything. This is just internet BS that some people are dumb enough to believe even though Bobby Mac, who is as legit and connected as they come, has spoken to the Matthews camp and has shot down this claim.

Easy HELL no from Detroit!! Larkin is going to be amazing and Detroit never trades first rounders or good prospects. That's why they are such a successful franchise. The only decent trade is the Rychel /Bernier trade in my opinion.
