Sign and trade for Trenin with a 4X$2.7M extension.

Nashville gets a young prospect who may be able to help them in scoring and probably gets a chance in their top 6. Trenin is a pending UFA and may not be in their future plans.

Toronto picks up a big, hard hitting LW that could be a cheaper Bertuzzi replacement if Bertuzzi won't be reasonable on a number to re-sign. At worst, Trenin is a 3LW that PK's and a big body that hits.

I like it RLF nice simple depth piece that makes out bottom 6 much more reliable but may have to add a pick to that. Maybe a 4th or 5th but could see it for sure. ?.

Do you think Robertson homds value still?

If this is possible, I'd do it for sure. I just don't see Robertson as having any value at all.

I like Trenin; I think he could be better offensively on a line with Tavares and Nylander plus adds better D than Bertuzzi. He’s also much more physical.

He’s good on the PK and certainly saves cap.

Only potential downside is seeing the Leafs lose a player who finds his potential once trade.

LL. I think Robertson still has value. Still young, no doubt development slowed by injuries. He is not horrible, he just isn't what the Leafs need. imo. but he may appeal to a team that could use scoring potential.

If Nashville needs a little more convincing Leafs have a 3rd round pick in 2024 should Nashville be open to retaining salary!

Makes perfect sense. which I why it won't happen. if they are gonna continue to Robertson on a 3rd line defensive line may as well trade for someone with size yo play there.
