Manson with never be a Leaf. As much as everyone on this site loves him, he is the antithesis of everything Dubas wants in a defenseman. Muzzin is as close to a traditional defense an you will find on the Leafs so long as Dubas calls the shots. Guys like Ellis are more realistic than guys like Manson. Kinda a shame because we will always be getting pushed off the puck in our own zone, losing those battles in corners or against the wall. I hate seeing points like that against us, because every time the opposite team scores a goal from a situation like that, I always catch myself thinking if we had Like Schenn back there that wouldn't have happened. Well, maybe it would have with Schenn, but you get my point. A bigger defenseman to clear the front of the net and win those battles in our zone is what we need. Not another fast top flight small offensive defenseman. We have way too many of those already.

Lol. Yeah I'm glad you redacted that Like Schenn part immediately. I don't think he would have helped very much.

The main problem with Schenn was that he coughed the puck up so much. He was a turnover machine. Everyone knew that if you rushed him and played heavy fire he k, he would eventually give the puck away. Every game you could count on him for a turnover. In the end, his whole game plan seemed to be to pass the puck to someone else as soon as it touched his stick. He didn't want that thing anywhere near him. He couldn't lead a rush, ever. And that's why he's not in the NHL anymore. If he could have learned to take his time and carry the puck to at least centre ice, then he has no fit in today's NHL.

We all loved Schenn from the world juniors. hard hitting player. should have been like Manson. defensive specialist. but due to poor management decisions he was rushed up cause he was a 1st round pick and the preasure of playing for Leafs ate up his confidence. like you said LeafsGM…. he could not get rid of that puck soon enough. which led to turnovers. game over.
