Leafs currently have 1.13 million in cap space, money unused from LTIR.

Holl, Kerfoot, Hirvonen, Robertson, Der-Arguchinstev & a 1st rd pick in 2023 & 2024 to Chicago for Kane & Domi. An additional 1st rd pick in 2025 to Chicago, if Leafs win the Cup this season. Chicago eats half of Kane & Domi contracts.

Engvall, Niemela, Aston-Reese & Sandin to Arizona for Chychurin. With Arizona eating half of Chychurin contract.

* Leafs would save an additional 1 million against the cap + the 1.13 from LTIR. So a depth move to bring in a Schenn or a d man still possible, with approx. 2.1 million available including $ from LTIR.

Leafs playoff lineup, Abruzzesse & Steeves could also be used in place of a Simmonds, McMann or Knies.

Bunting Matthews Marner
Nylander Tavares Kane
Knies Holmberg Anderson
McMann Kampf Simmonds

Reilly Brodie
Chychurin Liljegren
Giordano Timmins
Benn

1st PP : Matthews, Marner, Nylander, Tavares & Kane.

2nd PP : Reilly, Chychurin, Holmberg, Anderson & Bunting.

Leafs win first Cup since 1967

Big parade

Psychics have a Seance & Harold Ballard & Tim Horton join the celebration.

Matthews does his best imitation of Kucherov

Marner does his best imitation of Ovechkin

Streets are deserted for three days thereafter, Toronto has a serious hangover, during which team mates coerce Kane into taking a cab ride.

Kane thereafter signs as a UFA in Toronto

We have 0 use for kane. Too expensive, to big of a cap hit, and right handed. Domi is too soft for what the leafs need.

Chychrun is the most valuable piece and you think your going to get him for scraps :) :) :)

First Kane is far from washed up.

Domi is far feom washed up.

Sandin & Niemela are not table scraps, & Engvall a tradeable asset.

My bad left Domi out

Bunting Matthews Marner
Jarncrock Tavares Nylander
Knies Domi Kane
Holmberg Kampf Anderson.

So Boston first goal last night shows exactly why the leafs aren't making it past the 1st round. Marner didn't follow thru soth the check leaving the bigger Boston player to still have the puck and give up the shorty. Neither domi nor kane would have have the check either. It's not about then being not being washed up, they just aren't what is needed.

So Domi plays with an edge, has eclipsed 70+ points at his very best & still relatively young.

Kane is a warrior 3 Cups prove it, particularly as star players are targeted by their opponents, that's hockey. Gets that much more intense & volatile in the play offs, that grows exponentially round by round. So neither Domi or Kane are soft or shrinking violets in any regard.

Scouting report on Knies is he is a big kid with an edge & some skill, so apparently tough & projected to be a top 9 power forward, possibly a top 6 forward of course dependent on development.

Yes 1 play can make or break a game, but that has not been the Leafs achillis heel. Last year they lost because 1 game they mailed it in, which led to a Game 7. With leadership, talent & pedigree, no way that is happening with Kane on the Leaf bench & in the Leafs dressing room. They'll be no games off.

So the trade proposal also bolsters the, D with a legitimate top 4 D man & one with a high offensive upside & some term on his contract. The c.v. season Chychurin amassed 41 pts in 56 games with 18 goals, with another 26 games that would have been 25+ goals, doung so while not playing with top end talent like in Toronto.

Leafs need 2 Forwards thus a newly created 3rd line, that can go toe to toe with Bostons third line of Foligno, Coyle & Smith or whomever they are using. Knies, Domi & Kane I believe would be up to the task.

Holmberg, Kampf & Anderson could also add some depth scoring, as the Leafs 4th line.

Leafs top end talent as good as any team in the league.

Of course semi decent goaltending is needed, particularly considering the netminders of your opposition. Not the least of which is Vasilevsky,

Leafs need more depth in their bottom 6. Who give you that Kerfoot & Engcall? Lol

If Dubas has his hands tied Leafs go nowhere, it will take a couple 1st rd picks & prospects to achieve a Stanley Cup roster. Leafs lose to Tampa in 6 first round, if they do not make significant offensive upgrades because they are needed. Look @ your competition.

what toughness metricks are you looking at, kane is a skilled player that won 3 stantley cups, yes his experience would be valuable, but the leafs need players that can hit and win battles in the corners.

the 3 cup years kane: hits: 10: 5, 13: 3, 15: 11. we have enough players that shy away from making hits.

Max domi: in 24 playoff games he has 17 hits.

lets compare with stamkos and kucherov:
stamkos in 2020: injured, 0 hits. 2021: 47
kucherov in 2020: 39, 2021: 18

even boston's playoff metricks

patrnak: 101 hits in 70 career playoff games
marchand: 158 in 139. (29 in SC year)
bergeron: 246 in 167 (43 in SC year)

Sid the kid: SC years 09: 17, 16: 32, 17: 27
malkin: 09: 41, 16: 20, 17: 31

colorado
Landeskog 63
mackinnon 28
rantenan 36

thats why we dont need kane or domi. lets look at other nhl hitters with skill, the top 2 that come to mind are timo meier and sam bennet

Meier: 51gp 28 goals-48, 107 hits, 6m cap hit
bannet 51 gp 12g 19a, 122 hits 4.25 cap hit + 2years, also center

he cost would be roughtly the same as kane but also have control past the season. word on the street is florida is looking to shed cap to make room for duclair. there are a few more budget players to look at aswell, crouse, barbashev, neidereiter.

picking up anyone of those players stregthens our 3RW my putting jarnkrok there. and andersen can go to the 4rth line, or marlies.
