I'm going to try another Marner to Nashville prop.
Nash
Marner $10.9M
Robertson RFA
Tor
Sissons $2.86M
L'Heureux ELC
Schaefer ELC
Rights to Carrier
2024 2nd
Nashville picks up some much needed offence at good ages. They will have the cap space to extend Marner.
Toronto picks up a ton of cap space and a very good 3C in Sissons. A high energy, physical prospect in L'Heureux and a big LW prospect in Schaefer along with a 2nd in this draft. The rights to Carrier as well, whom I think could be a good partner for McCabe on the 2nd pair and bring a little extra offence from the backend. His age also fits with the Leafs. Sign Carrier 4X$3.75M.

No trading Marner or Robertson
Let's look what's exciting July 1
Let's 4 get the forth line that's east to do with cheap players and Reaves takes one spot
So leaf's have to fill 9 spots
First resign Domi to as close to last years money as possible on long term deal up to 5 years
Domi Matthews -----------
McMann Tavaras Nylander
Robertson -------- Marner
Reeves Holmberg -----------
That's two holes in top 9 to fill with lots of cap space
We need a third line cebter my choice if we can get him is Stamkos
We also need a right winger to play with Matthews we don't have to spend a lot of money on this right wing spot
Bertuzzi was way too much money for what he delivered 5.5 million
If you could bring him back on long term deal at maximum 4 million I do it. Matthews can carry Domi and Bertuzzi nicely
If not you look the best player available for 4million to play with Domi and Matthews
Defence
Reilly McCabe
Binot Liljegren
Leaf's need 2nd. Pairing guy right side spend 6 to 7 million on this player
Woll
Try Hildeby to back him up don't spend much on backup goalie
Leaf's have approx 17 to 18 million in cap space
Stamkos 6 long term
Defencemen 6 to 7 million
Winger Matthews 4 million
Just find 3 good pieces
Gone
Jarnknok
Kampf
Brodie
Giordano
Samsonov.

Can Cowan play top lime with Domi and Matthews?

Mackin, why do you want to keep Marner? What has he done to prove he's an asset to this team at his salary?

You are forgetting Knies and that Dewar and Gregor are also RFA's along with Steeves, who you have said is a 3rd liner. In this trade Leafs acquired Sissons for 3C. I would trade Lily and Timmins and Jarnkrok to open more cap space. Leafs gained $8M in cap space with this deal giving the Leafs $26.5M and don't have to re-sign Robertson, which saves that cap space. After the others are moved it's over $29M in cap space.
Bert 5X$4.5M
Domi 4X$3.75M
Boosh 3X$2M
Edmundson 4X$2.5M
Dewar 2X$1M
Gregor 1X$.9M
Carrier 4X$3.75M
Stolarz 3X2.5M
Trenin 4X$2.75M
=$23.65M
Cap space left $6.15M to fill out extra forwards and 7th D. Also lots of extra cap to make a trade if needed. Plus, extra assets in another 2nd this year L'Hereaux (should end up good bottom 6er), Shaefer (mid 6 power type forward projected) and whatever I get for Liljegren, Timmins and Jarnkrok. I'd say the team would be set up pretty good moving forward if those moves could be made.
Domi Matthews Bert
Knies Tavares Nylander
McMann Sissons Trenin
Dewar Kampf Reaves
Holmberg/ Gregor/ Grebyonkin/ Cowan
Rielly Carrier
Edmundson McCabe
Benoit Boosh
Niemela
Woll
Stolarz (Lankinen is my next choice)

Love the goaltending choice my 2nd would be Lindgren, I think they should try to move kampf, jarnkrok, lily, timmins and Robertson. Like the forward targets I'd like to see them go after Montour, Pesce and Tanev on the back end. Get 2 out of those 3 guys and they'd have a solid d core.

Johnny. It would be good to get two of those 3 as well, just not sure what they want for contracts.
