With the recent reports that willy is getting signed I think the fans need to look at other members of the core 4 as trade bait and one that stands out is Mitch.

Tor: Marner
Vgk: karlsson Hague

So the tricky part of moving Mitch is his no move. so I think he will want to go to a contender and somewhere is the sun. Vegas is no stranger when it comes to making these kinds of moves for the leafs they get a good two way center that will allow Tavares to move to the wing and then they also grab the big physical blueliner they have been looking for. I don't see this happening this year but maybe in the offseason

They aren't trading Marner. they are waiting out JT's contract which will remove one of the 11M players at forward. we have 1 more season of this.

It will work as long as Marner sign at the same price as Nylander when his contract is up.

One tough year until Tavares resigns for about 4 million or he leaves . I could see the leafs playing hardball with him as they’ll want Matthews to be the captain . JT will be given a take it or leave it offer .

So you guys all think that mlse is gonna keep forking money out to a core that can’t win? I mean I don’t think it’s likely they make it far in the playoffs this year unless they get something really good at the deadline but when does the line in the sand get drawn here.

@Goat. It looks like the 3 younger ones anyway. The other 2 will demand NMC's for at least the first 4 years like Matthews got. I don't think they are going anywhere if they start by giving Willy 8X$11M.
