Leafs trade Dermott, Ceci, Kapanen, Hutchinson
Rangers Trouba, Andersson, Georgiev

Dice it up any way you want, Rangers get back more than they paid for Trouba, and the rest is for the prospect Andersson and the goalie.

Agree0 Disagree1

I like this one but in all honesty I don't think the rangers do. It's more than the rangers paid for Trouba but he's on (if I remember correctly) an 8yr/ 8m contract which is pretty good even if not exactly team friendly. He's also a better D than Dermott at this point especially as Dermott is coming off of injury. Ceci is obviously a cap dump and a plug for them without Trouba so not much to say. I'm sure they would be happy with Kapanen but not in exchange for a prospect and a goalie that is probably a big hope for when Lunqvist is gone. Wasn't I can't see this happening unless the leafs decide to add something. Maybe something along the lines of adding in woll and Lili +5th. The rangers get a prospect to make up the difference between Trouba and dermott+Ceci and you throw in a late pick+ a lesser goaltending prospect for their prospect and Geogiev.

Nice to see an origal post even if I don't agree completely. Always good to have some new talking points.

Gergiev is the heir apparent in goal. I don't think they will trade him with king Henrik being as old as he is. Hutch is a back up, ceci is a rental and Dermot is much better than top 4. The only chip worth anything is kappy and he just isn't enough.

im with LeafLife on this one. to me the goalies dealt in this deal really make this deal a deal breaker. Take out the goalies then the value is pretty close. unfortunetly trouba has said he doesn't want to be on a team in Canada. whether that is speculation or not i'm sure Jets fans know the trouba stuff all too well.

New York won't bite on this one.

What? I posted a bad trade that nobody liked? Does that mean I get to call everyone Homer’s now? Lol.

I seen you on the main board chewing up the usual “homers” over there Craigger. Lol. Keep it up and you might just clear out enough of those so-called “experts” that I might start thinking about contributing again. Good Job Craigger.

As for the trade here, I made it last night before going to bed. I knew it was weak, but like LeafsLife said, we needed something to talk about. The regular contributors haven’t been posting so much original proposals the last few days. I was grasping for something, anything, just to get discussion flowing.

11 Oct 2019 12:58:44
yeah, not much to really propose lately unless its for kapanen or ceci. due to money going in and out. at least you covered those 2 players with this deal.

the main board is fun. for some reason some think i go into a fan base site and just write crap. i see stuff on main board then write stuff. never go into the actual site of the fanbase. if its on the main board ill respond if i feel a response or question needs to be asked. its not about getting rid of people its about informing them properly. respectfully. you know me i'm all about polite non offensive chatter. lol.

It’s the fact that they are so obstinate in their opinion, despite being proved wrong in several occasions. And when anyone questions their “expertise”, they fall back to name calling and attacking the other person’s “teams”, in this case the Leafs. Why a discussion about a Winnipeg trade to any other team other than Leafs has to be turned into a discussion about the Leafs is beyond me. Like yourself, I try to keep to the topic at hand and be polite in helping get people see my viewpoint. Obviously, as you well know, it’s not always possible. But antagonizing another member of the forum and attempting to discourage them in posting a proposal is childish. We need people on here to contribute every day. We’ve only had a couple props a day since season started. Not a whole lot. And while Kapanen and Ceci are the obvious targets who take up the bulk of the propositions right now, it’s ok to venture into “fantasy” and post a few trades involving Matthews, Marner, Tavares. Is it realistic? No. Is it fun? Yes.

11 Oct 2019 15:15:16
That was my whole premise to drifting onto the main page. Sometimes you can get ideas from other propsals. Sometimes you learn about other prospects and players you may not know about. Other teams fans are just as informative as we leaf fans are. Every fanbase has 1 or 2 fans who can't be bias or are so objectionable to their team its quite humorous.

I stay the same knowing my ideas aren't always the greatest but before you just say no try explaining yourself first then ill agree or disagree to that response. its how you learn and keep a good conversation. that's why its so fun.

I love the idea of bringing in the LeafSlayer Georgiev. As has been stated, he's the future of the crease for the Rangers, and I think they've done incredible work with their rebuild, so I'm not sure they'd be willing to part with him. Woll would have to go the other way and we'd have to pay a fortune, but he's a very intruiging target.

The other issue with georiev is likely seattle.

11 Oct 2019 18:19:26
damn. keeps going back to that damn expansion draft. Randy hit that one right on. Andersen or Georiev? plus Georiev needs to get paid by then also. lol.

MarsBars is right also, Georiev is the rangers future.

11 Oct 2019 23:38:53
I don't think expansion draft is an issue if you do trade for Gorgiev. You don't protect Freddy. By that point he has one year left on his deal and you would have to pay a lot for him.

11 Oct 2019 23:02:01
Speaking of expansion draft. Who does mapleleafs protect.

12 Oct 2019 02:01:50
intbink the better idea to find a replacement for Freddie is to target a team that is either running a tandem, or one that a couple good near nhl ready prospects that they can afford to trade one. Going after a guy that is obvious heir apparent to a current starter is probably not going to work unless we overpay significantly.

@redwing

Matthew sure, Marner, Tavares, Nylander, Kerfoot, and two out of three of Kapanen, Johnsson, Hyman.

Rielly, Dermott, and Muzzin if we re-sign him. Sandin and Liljegren are both on ELC and won’t need protecting, same as any of our most recent draft picks with promise, such as Robertson or SDA (both of whom are lighting it up on the Pete’s this year again) .

12 Oct 2019 07:23:49
SDA I have huge hopes for lol sometimes I see guys in Juniors and just like the style and can't help but hope they make it.
