So could the Leafs pull off a big trade with Seattle to to create more cap space and improve their defense and give Seattle more forwards.

Toronto trades Kerfoot, Engvall, Dermont and Joey Anderson ($7.25 million cap created)

To
Seattle for Jared McCann and Vince Dunn or Jeremy Larzon ( cap in $5.25 in)

This trade gives us an extra 2 million of cap space, 3rd line center and a big 3rd line defender

Leafs could then look a signing Nick Richtie and Galchenyuk

Francis drafted with the purpose of keeping cap space open. I don't think he's giving us cap space for them.

If he valued Kerfoot over Mcann or Dermott over both he would have picked one of the two.
