Don’t see Calgary having any use for Adam Ruzicka. I think he has an upside that has never been given a chance.

Aube-Kubel, with his grit, is a Sutter guy.

I’d toss this offer out to Calgary and see if it had traction.

Can’t see Calgary giving up a young prospect with lots of upside for a career 4th line player that will never be any more than that!
Even the Leafs have benched NAK this year.
Why would Calgary want him?

I don't think the deal is that far off. Ruzicka isn't playing and he's 23. Not like he is only 19 or 20. Typically by 23, players have found a spot on the big club if that team drafted them. NAK is getting shafted by the Leafs. He can play and has some skill as well.

If he did he would be playing for the Leafs instead of being a healthy scratch for half their games.
Ruzicka is just breaking into the league and trying to earn a spot on a very deep roster of veteran players.
There is no comparison in the value or potential of the two players.

@WB49. There is only 3 years between the two players. Their junior numbers are almost identical. Their paths to the NHL very similar as NAK played some games as a 22 year old and started establishing himself as a 23 year old. NHL numbers even similar at same age. NAK has been a 4th liner for most of it. So has Ruzicka. How do you conclude no comparison in value or potential?

NAK does take the body a lot and has 3 seasons over 120 hits. He will also drop the gloves if needed. If you haven't noticed, Leafs management doesn't really value physical play. Shanahan himself has even said he doesn't get excited by a big hit or fight. Too bad he doesn't realize the fans and players do get pumped by it and energized fans in the building pumps up the players on the ice.
