This by itself makes leafs much better than last year. So don't trade core you have about 10 million in cap space get the best forward for third line as you can along with number 4 defencemen

I'm really sad to see Dubas go Brad Treliving scares me. This guy can't hold Dubas jock strap

I understand why Dubas has his fans. But never can understand the thought that he is some kind of genius or did a great job. He got better as time went on, but he made some brutal moves and missed out on some great opportunities as well. Taking his whole GM tenure into account, he did ok. imo.

@RLF. i don't even know how much Duva got better. all ya have to do is look at his trade for Matt Murray. we all knew that was a mistake and is was.

True Loxley. He had his favourites etc that blurred his vision. I think that goes back to his ego and his we can and we will attitude.
He did start to alter his vision of a competitive team and did bring g in some size, grit and experience although it took him way too long to realize how important it was.
He seemed to make better decisions more often as time went on. Every GM makes a bad move or two. He made way more mistakes earlier in his career than later on. To me it balances him out to being ok.

@RLF. ya. but you don't get too many take backs when you mess up on goalies. noth Murray and Marazek. and although the toughness on the bottom lines was improved. he still did nothing to infuse that kinda attitude or player in the top 6 (core four) . how disheartning nust it be for all the bottom guys that gave what they could to see the top guys check out. can't be good for moral.

@Loxley. I agree. Don't get me wrong, I said it took him too long to realize things and I have wanted the top 4 broke up for a few years as I don't think as a group they are the right fit. You know how I feel about the bottom 6 willing to go to war and the core 4 not willing.
Dubas did change direction as time went on as his last TDL he did quite well. Let's be clear, me saying he did "ok" is not the same as saying he did a good job or his body of work is even acceptable. Unless doing "ok" is now good enough. For me, ok is not. If I do ok at something I am not satisfied with what I did.

@RLF. I hear ya. I guess I have st don't see Dubas improving all that much. he's always changed pieces in the bottom 6 when we all know the problem is the core four. at this point trade all three. start over . then maybe Tavares will wanna lift his no move clause.

@Loxley. As you said, he kept changing the bottom 6 pieces. He did do a good job of finding cheap bottom 6 talent. He signed Bunting cheap who ended up playing in the top 6 and scoring 20. Kampf was his doing. I agree that he didn't do what he should, but I am trying to be fair and also give him credit for what he did well. I am not upset he is gone.
