I know everyone might think this is crazy, but I’m really pushing for a trade like this. Get rid and f Mathews, Nylander. And Mo. if you’re gonna say that you’re changing the”DNA”, then do it. Not this trade in particular but a big trade getting in some new pieces to form the DNA we want. I’m m big on a Columbus trade with Marchenko, Olivier being a part of the deal. We don’t get toughness in the lineup, we will continue to get bullied for a decade in a row now.

Marchenko, Werenski, Olivier to Tor * yes we all have an opinion on who should add here but I think the Leafs will have to add another prospect or significant draft pick to this deal because of Werenski.

Trading any of Matthews, Nyalnder and/ or Rielly will be extremely difficult because they all have no moves. Remember when Tkachuk wanted out of Calgary, he gave Calgary one option he was willing to go to. At the time it looked like Calgary got a really good return considering the circumstances. Then Hubey sucked and the trade looked horrible.
It sounds great to get all these good to great prop returns for these guys, but reality will likely be that they refuse to waive, will only waive for one or two teams which will mean the return is not what we would hope for or many won't be happy with. The players completely control this situation.
