I would say Johnsson holds little value to Carolina who has lots of winger depth I think trading multiple high picks is a bad idea right now especially with a flat cap teams are going to lean more on their prospects and development for cheaper contracts.

Why Puistola? I mean, talk about a random throw-in. I would rather have the 3rd come back (where Puistola was drafted) and take a chance drafting our own project at 3rd than taking on a guy like Puistola, who has about as much chance at making the NHL as I do.

Anyway leafs pass, we’re not in rebuild mode and if Kapanen is traded it will likely be for a top 4RHD. No need for Puljujarvi as well.

How is Kapanen not worth a 1st IJ? Multiple players worse than him got moved for more this year. If we wanted a 1st for Kapanen you're damn right we get one. You draft a player in the mid-late 1st round (exactly where Kapanen was drafted) and hope he turns out to be as good as Kapanen. Oilers can't draft anything that isn't a given. So what makes you think they can draft a better player than Kapanen with their pick? You're damn right they would trade a 1st+ for Kapanen, as would every other team in the league.

Kappy would get a first lol. I'm not sure why you think he wouldn't. He's a top 6 winger on a lot of teams who is extremely fast and kills penalties.
Especially considering what comparables went for recently Kapanen definitely fetches a first maybe even a first+prospect depending on where he's being sent.
