Personally I think this is an over payment. Dvorak isn't such a can't miss prospect that the leafs should give up Boazak (Who i believe the leafs could possibly receive a first for at the trade deadline), Carrick who is a top 4 D man, Timashov who is a top prospect and a 2nd.
I wouldn't do it, what do you guys think?

I highly doubt that long term on a competitive team carrick is really a top 4 rhd. I also don't doubt that bozak could potentially land us a late 1st round pick, but who would we play in his place?

How do you guys think a Jvr for Lindholm trade could look?

with bernier's salary coming off the books it won't be too huge a problem to resign him in the off season.
What do you guys think, are the leafs and ducks suitable partners?

This is probably going to be very much in the leafs favour and completely out of the realm of possibility but I've been having a really hard time choosing between laine and matthews. so why not get both? see its completely out there haha, but what do you guys think it would take

Would you trade for a top 6 winger on a fantastic deal, AND a first round pick AND a second (really late 1st) round pick AND a good prospect? Depending on who it it YES. It's an overpayment from a Leafs perspective but worth it if Lou thinks so.
Personally I would go for a pick in the 5-8 range and pick up a great player for much less; Nylander, Chychrun etc.

Bernier might not be playing well but both Kadri and Bernier is too much for Toronto to give up for Schnieder. I would say and 3rd or 4th plus Schnieder for the Toronto players. And I still think that might be undervaluing Kadri and Bernier.

Hey guys as everyone knows we have rumours floating around everywhere we have the shattenkirk, barrie, fleury rumours and others but one that interests me the most is subban being on the block (which he probably isnt)
But how much do you guys think it would cost to bring him to the leafs would we have to include a nylander/ marner type prospect if so then i'd forget the trade right here but what are your thoughts.

Before You read this I'm being a pretty big Leaf fan here talking about Stamkos and other things, so if you just want to hate have fun i'm going to give u quite a bit to say ^_^ but I do feel I'm quite fair in the things I say so if I say anything way out of here be my guest and give it to me.
I think the Tampa player the Leafs should go after this offseason isn't Stamkos. It's Kuchie, who I've been raving about for years
I think we should offer an offer sheet in the 7-8 mil range (a Tarasenko type deal), we'd be offering up 2 1sts, a 2nd and a 3rd. I think he'd cost more in a trade anyways and if tampa match it then they have that contract when they still need to resign palat, hedman, johnson and others in the coming years
Dont think there is much chance of the Lightning resigning Stamkos anyways Because they have made it this far without Stamkos and also for the same reasons as matching the Kucherov deal. The fact they have to sign the rest of their core to big deals in the next 2 years. If the Kucherov offer sheet doesn't work, I would still go after Stamkos but anything over 10-10.5 mil i'm staying away from he can go sign somewhere else, Also I'd frontload the contract so it would be somewhat tradeable in the future (emphasis on "somewhat")
Does anyone think that the Devils are going to be conteding anytime soon? I dont, I'd be checking in on that Schnieder situation everyday, they have Blackwood and 4 other goalies coming through their system. Would a Deal of Bernier, Timashov, Wash 2nd. i'd say this is a better deal than what he was traded for originally (Bo Horvat at 9th overall) If you don't know who Timashov is look him up, biggest steal of last years draft, expecting a lot out of him, don't really want to trade him haha. please correct me if i'm off base here, I just thought that NJ needed some top end skill at forward and I think Timashov can bring that. and then they have a 1 yr replacement/ stop gap in bernier and a 2nd which speaks for itself.
I think the Leafs need to improve their top 4 and find a partner for Rielly, I think Gardiner and Zaitsev have the 2nd pairing down and corrado, marincin and carrick can battle out the bottom pair. I would be "interested" in Tanev and Barrie (both are rhd) . I liked the tanev-reilly pairing at the worlds which I know isn't much to go on, but I like Tanev and was wondering if a deal including Kadri as the centrepiece could be worked out. Have no idea what it would take to get barrie, because I know he is verrryyy good. How about pitts 1st, Dermott, Ott 2nd, wanna hear your guys thoughts and how you value Barrie. I would do the Barrie deal if we did not get Stamkos since we would need Kadri, and vice versa w/ Tanev (Barrie+Stamkos would be better though, obviously)

Don't ever offer sheet anyone. it's cheap.once Matthews,Marner and Nylander all become RFA every team will remember your offer sheet crap and rape the leafs. just go the course this year. Draft smart. Try to unload the RFAs you don't want for basically free. Try to trade bad long term contracts for injured players. Fill your roster with prospects and injured players still maxing out your cap for 1 year while teaching the youth how to play. Then, once all bad contracts are gone and injured contracts are retired start signing your smart drafts with smart contract. Sign established stars in 17/18 then go for a cup. don't piss other teams off and just get better quietly then you become the Blackhawks by the time the Blackhawks are old.

Come on Boys I can't be the only one who likes the trade by Toronto?
They traded 5 borderline prospects and got rid of 4 contracts, for some wiggle room to make more moves, and got grabner who could be a decent top 6 forward with upside, this team isn't trying to compete, they can flip him for picks at the deadline as well. the leafs obviously didn't beleaf in those prospects and they made a cap/contract deal
In the end the trade is good for both teams but please share your thoughts
the only prospect I feel the leafs might have gave up early on is verhaeghe but he was never a star and didn't rack up the #s
but I like the deal from both sides

I actually like the edm trade it helps both teams imo, gives edm a top 2 d, a #1 g and a gritty 4/5 d man, and the leafs get a great lw who will be an integral piece of the rebuild could very well be their centerpiece, the hurricane trade is pretty bad tho, there isn't a enough quality coming from t.o., if motnreal does that itll be a steal haha and the arizona trade isn't half bad and then that's a pretty good start to the rebuild
