I would be calling the Chicago Blackhawks to see what it would take to get the first overall pick.Make a blockbuster offer of Matthews Marner combination or Matthews Nylander combination. Takes almost 20 million off the cap and you can fill those spots with some new players. Draft Bedard as he doesn't want to go to Chicago I heard. Time to retool this team

I just can't see anyone giving up Bedard. If the first was available, a lot of teams have more to offer a rebuilding team than Dubas does.

He could be another Shane Wright, no guarantee that you can excel in the WHL, OHL, QHL and carry to the NHL. I still would give them a call, it doesn't cost to inquire.

@Crippy Bedard's numbers are so much higher than Shane Wright. It isn't even close to a comparison.

Love the Giordano idea but what about Seth Jones or Hampus Lindholm. could we make some kind of deal with Sandin,liligren,Holl dermott plus to get any of these guys.
I also like Boone jenner or Okposo if we look for a tough forward. Offer up Engval,Mkeyev,Kerfoot pick or prospect
In net I would like to see if we could get Korpisalo,Holtby, for Mrazek

I would like to see the Leafs pursue a new netminder. Two come to mind for me. Shesterkin or Georgiev from the Rangers. Not sure what they would be in the market for now that they have 1st overall pick this year. Move Andersen to the Kraken for a defencemen after the expansion draft. Use Andersens money for another defencemen. Thoughts?????

I wouldn't mind a move for a prospect like Ukko-Peka Lukkonen or Spencer Knight.

Anderson has to go. I agree. Not so much about his play but at his age no reason to pay him big money if he asks for it.
I like the idea of going after Spencer Knight I just assume that will cost a fair amount.

Gotta wonder if Florida is regretting signing Goalie Bob to a huge contract now. Especially since they have one of the best goalie prospects in the world knocking at the door.
They should have did what Columbus did, and just trust the guys they have in the system rather than pay extortionists rates for Bobrovsky.

Goalies of all positions are the hardest to judge as they age. I didn't think that contract would suck for another 3-4 years though. Looks to me like Bob got his payday and checked out.

Bob's also had the benefit of playing behind a Tortorella team for years - maybe he simply wasn't as good as everyone thought.
Korpisalo has had a great playoff so far - but how many incredible saves did he actually make against TOR?

Very, very good point. He made 70 saves in that Tampa game but he wasn't facing grade A chances on 20 of them. Torts entire system relies on letting the other team shoot but grabbing rebounds and only allowing poor quality shots. May make the goalies look better than they actually are.

Sorry Rocket9 maybe I should have posted on Leafs Talk. Brand new to posting. I see I am not up to your GM standards and expertise on this site. A handle like Rocket9 sounds like you could be a Habs fan.

What would it take to get a guy like Seth Jones to help us on defence? Sandin Liligren?
Would Columbus think of trading Boone Jenner or Korpisalo for Nylander, Mraszek and a pick 2 or 3?
