Reason: Knies has not and will not be traded. Zero replacements with equal skill set, size, strength, speed, grit and personality all in one available in today’s current market. Futures doesn’t replace him and Matthews is not McDavid! He won’t be able to fire together a productive season playing with jobbers.

I agree. I think a lot of these rumours are smoke and mirrors. Yes, they are listening, but I don’t think they are willing to move him unless it’s an overpay.

I’m glad we still have some Leaf fans with hockey IQ. These guys like Hrenkin, plus many more constantly trading this guy, tells me they have no idea what it takes to win in hockey. I’m keeping hope that Chayka is smart enough not to trade him.

You forgot to mention in a year he will only be able to play 30 games a season going forward due to ongoing concussions and a wonky back and ACL knee surgery…

Clearly, I'm glad you don't understand certain things. Trading a young winger with term for a hefty return that fills I portant needs is how I bring up trading Knies. We have 5 billion left handed stick players on the wings and a massive hole at center.

We're drafting another left handed stick winger and still have a massive hole at center. How do you expect to trade for a legit #2 center using players like Dakota Joshua, Maccelli, and Robertson, to add to the draft picks we also don't have.

Are we going to use our younger players like Cowan or Danford, ornate we going to trade prospects we haven't even scratched the surface with in Koblar.

The reason Knies is tradeable is we have McKenna coming in, Cowen looked comfortable playing with Matthews and Nylander. We have issues that a big body left handed winger that has no trade protection would solidfy our long term center depth that true contenders need to have.
