Leafs should inquire on the availability of Braeden Schneider from the Rangers. Put together a fair package of picks, prospects and either Nick Robertson and/or Bobby McMann to land Braeden Schneider and undo the mistake of Kyle Dubas selecting the late Rodion Amirov instead of Braeden Schneider.

The only issue I would have with that is the leafs don’t need anymore stay at home d I think the bigger issue they have is the fact that they get almost zero goals from the blueline.

The Necas for Nylander has run its course I think. I like Schneider and was pi**ed when Dubas didn't draft him. Just my opinion, you don't trade McMann. He is a cheap complimentary winger that can play on any line and contribute. His speed, size and shot are hard to come by. Very underrated player and I am glad he is finally getting some praise for what he does.

Actually grumpy I’ve read Ckps posts. He never claims Reilly is even a good player. In fact he said he’s not against trading him. He did say it Reilly goes you need an offensive replacement, something like that. As usual your “facts” are not accurate.

I agree and have agreed with ckps that you’d need to find another offensive D to replace Reilly. And i support trading him if the deal is right. Wouldn’t wanna be looking at JT Miller right now though. Something with CGY that nets a top six forward and rasmus Anderson.

I’ve always like Pavel Zacha’s game but trading McCabe?
McCabe can play both the left and right side, is physical and a top 4 defender.
Who replaces McCabe?
Since Zacha would be Leafs new, 3rd line center and Calgary is rebuilding, perhaps they would prefer a younger player than McCabe?
Maybe Robertson and Minten to the Flames?
Or maybe Niemala to replace Calgary’s lost RHD (Anderson) plus either Robertson or Minten (Calgary’s choice) .
Robertson, Holmberg and Kampf are all replaceable and no great loss in my opinion.

Seems like a lot to give up for a young guy who has yet to prove he can play in the NHL.
Robertson began to show his value last season and has shown continued improvement in training camp.
Liljegren is a very good, if overpaid, 3rd pairing RHD, while leaving Leaf fans to wonder if he will ever become a top4 defender.
Wright looked good in junior and the AHL but has yet to show the same success against NHL competition.
I could see Robertson for Wright as Seattle needs scoring and Leafs need another center.
But a one for one trade is all that I would be prepared to offer.

To Leafs: Wright
To Seattle: Kampf
Holmberg can replace Kampf as 4th line center at 1/ 3rd the cost and Toronto can hope that Wright turns into Leafs future 3rd/ 2nd line center.
Seattle bolsters their bottom 6 and their PK.

I think you guys are severely undervaluing Shane Wright. He's still only 20. When he got called back up to Seattle, he put up 5 pts in 8 games. Played centre. Sheltered minutes for sure, but he was defensively responsible and just over 50% on the dot. He still needs to engage more physically. His ceiling is probably a 2C who plays a strong 2 way game. That's worth more than what's being offered. imo.

I think is one of the more realistic Team oriented trade concerning Robertson. He gets a second chance with his old coach, He also gets a change of environment. As for Mercer this will help to build the youth movement.

I don't know if it is just me but I would stay away from J. T. Miller. He seems to be a locker room cancer wherever he goes. Seemed to happen with the Rangers and now it is happening with the Canucks. The Leafs need to seriously consider alternatives to replacing Matthews. Matthews seems to be injured every year. If it isn't his wrist it is some key nd of upper body injury.

Marner is worth McTavish, Jones and the 3rd overall pick in 2024. What is a Colangelo? Bryan Colangelo was terrible for the Raptors. I don't think I would buy groceries at Colangelo's as food is too expensive.
