Seattle trades Adam Larsson

we need a Shutdown d. Reilly brodie are good and mccabe jumps up too much, Larsson with McCabe can slow the game down which is good for playoffs. I would also try and get a vetran d from philly in marc staal as an extra

Lily makes 1.4 klingberg is the odd man out. Maybe goes on waivers who cares was a free add.

Big fan of acquiring Larsson. That package should be more then enough. As you said, figuring out the cap is the issue. If we took out the 1st and added Samsonov for Daccord. It would add 200k to the Kraken's cap, if my math is correct.

I'm not sure how everyone is saying this is an overpay. He's a big part of the Kracken and the package looks fair to me.

I agree with LL. A problem late 1st, an often injured Dman and prospect. How is that an overpay? Just because the Leafs don't have many or maybe any A prospects, doesn't mean whatever the Leafs do have is gold.

Yes he’s been a big part of the Kraken D, a team that has over-performed the last two years. Larsson’s best years have been with Kraken, Edmonton (a defensive juggernaut? NO) .

They are both struggling today.

Yes he’s strong defensively, perhaps a shutdown Dman, not sure really.

Would I like him on our team?

Yes but I’d be only willing to give Brodie and Robertson or if Kraken need a goalie go ahead with the Samsonov trade and another non-Robertson prospect.

I don’t believe I overvalue any Leaf player; the package is too rich for me.

And why is a late 1st round a problem?

That first goal was one of the best I've ever seen. Hard work along the boards, strong skating, great stick handling, gift of a pass to Mo. Ride out the contract and let him walk.

I also agree with RLF and LL. if you look at what the Leafs sent the kings for Muzzin. this is about right. it was a 1st round pick. Grundstrom and Durzi.

Also more of a question but if the leafs move McCabe out as he’s not what they wanted for treliving, does that pick switch from 5th rd to 3rd from CHI as he wouldn’t play in 25%.
