Ceci & Barrie out.

Johnsson, Holl and Engvall to devils for Severson and a 3rd round pick.

Nylander-Matthews-Hyman
Mikheyev-Tavares-Marner
Robertson-Kerfoot-Kapanen
Clifford-Spezza-Barabanov

Rielly-Severson
Muzzin-Lehtonen
Sandin-Dermott

How do you split the forward lines up at this point? It looks too amazing and lethal to do that.

I don't see why either team does this. If severson is moved they don't want 2 late twenties player and a guy who had a hot streak once and is otherwise unproven. I don't believe they are done rebuilding and want younger guys.

Besides all that, is Severson that much better than Holl? I'm not convinced.

It's easy to split those forward lines up. We trade at least two of the guys on the 2nd line for peanuts just so we can be under cap.

I think Holl looked really good and I think with his and muzzins chemistry he won’t be moved and I think if Clifford doesn’t take a league mon contract he’s too expensive for the leafs.

Seriously what’s with the obsession in trading Holl? He was great this year and it’s obvious he has improved his overall game. I don’t see why you give him up. Severson is a good target though. His defensive stats will go up once he plays in Toronto.

I'm not sure I understand trading Holl either. Right side after this year is only Holl and possibly Liljigren. Yet everyone wants to trade Holl lol. My hope is Dermott and Lehtonen can switch sides but upgrading on Holl should be the least of our concerns.

Pittsburgh won their last cup with only one right shot defenseman (Schultz) . Letang was injured and didn't play in the playoffs, and the rest were all lefties playing right side.

So the handedness debate is a little overblown. There are advantages and disadvantages. The coaches and players just have to adjust a bit to make it work is all.

I think the reason Holl gets suggested a lot is because he is a 27 year old rookie that just signed a three year deal. How good is he going to be really? He looked good this year. But that's not unusual for a player to have a good year out of ordinary. What is unusual is a 27 year old making the team and being able to reproduce or better his rookie numbers. We've seen other players who were late bloomers seemingly make the NHL only to quickly regress again after. It wouldn't surprise me if we see the same with Holl. Trading him now is cashing in while he is at maximum value. He just had his best year, is a top 4 RHD, and is signed multi-year term. Trading him now makes sense if you want to maximize the return.

i think Holl gets thrown into deals with players nobody wants. ie Engvall and Johnsson. who are viewed as filler players. i like Holl personally but because he makes a whole 2mil and this team is cash strapped people are traddping with Dubas mentality and look at Holl and think he is making 1 mil too much. he's a perfect 4,5,6 player and i have no problem spending 2mil on him but being cap strapped cause of the top for making too much.

That's where my issue comes in. I can't personally think of someone to trade Holl for that offers more while costing less than 2m.
