Such a shame that Dubas chose to protect Justin Holl in the expansion draft and left Jared McCann unprotected for the Kraken to select.
Most Leaf fans could see this was a mistake when it happened.
Similar to Dubas trading for Foligno when 25 year old (at the time) Sam Bennett was available (much cheaper)
Like Dubas trading down for Travis Dermot and Jeremy Bracco allowing Flyers to select Travis Konecny with Leafs pick.
Reminiscent of Dubas trading for Giordano (whom he could have signed in the summer as a FA for nothing) and passing on the available Jacob Middleton.
So many mistakes in only 5 years as GM.

No Hind Sight involved.
Just a case of poor management.
I called every one of those mistakes the day they happened.
They were all obvious just like Dubas’s trade of Mason Marchment for Denis Malgin was obviously a mistake “when it happened”!

@WB I understood the move to trade Marchment as he would never have gotten ice time here, butt for Malgin was beffudling. I did not and still do not, understand that in the slightest.
