I could totally see Edmonton giving up a 50 goal scorer for a backup goalie and nothing else.

15 million in salary coming in and next to nothing going out…. even if you move Kamph and Jarnkok it doesn’t work.

Woll wouldn’t be a back up on 60-70% of teams and he is still really young. Hyman had 50 only once and is much older than Woll. If Edmonton doesn’t make a goalie change that GM is gonna get boo’d right out of town. Alright CKPS, Ready?

Space we have now: 1.9M

Cap going out: 13.43M between Maccelli, Robertson, Woll, Jarnkrok and Kampf + the 1.9M we have in cap space = 15.33 M

Cap coming in: 12.85 from Hyman, Skinner and Tuch

Which still leaves us with 2.48M. Maybe we should be thinking about what we are gonna write down instead of just saying the first thought that pops in your head.

Skinner and Hyman make a combined 8.1 and you’re proposing to give Tuch 7.25……sooooo that’s 15.35 coming in . You’ll be slightly over the cap.

Woll is an improvement for EDM but he’ll only play 50-55 games. Hyman is on a sweetheart deal for his production and is not afraid to go into the corners. He’s loved in EDM and is still a 35-40 goal scorer if he gets PP time. No way they will go for it unless there is another immediate help/ controllable piece (like a Domi or Roy) theown in the deal instead of Koblar and EDM makes “the tough decision” to make their team better.

That is too much for Tuch since he’s a FA next year. He’d have to already sign that extension before the trade to even make it work. Wait until the trade deadline and he can be traded for without adding Danford or Maccelli into the deal. The 1st and some other prospect or controllable piece (Benoit, OEL) should get it done.

@Bob the Tuch extension doesn’t kick in until next year. He still makes 4.75M this year that’s why I added it like that.
