Danford?
Please NO!
Danford has the skills and ability to become a 2nd pairing, RHD, one of the more valuable commodities in the NHL.
Think a young Chris Tanev.
Schmaltz will turn 30 (10 years older than Danford) in February adding to Leafs current list of Senior NHL players.
Schmaltz is also a -26 for his career.
Definitely not a move I would make.
Though getting rid of Domi makes it very tempting.
Not a Domi fan at all.

@WB since when is 30 a senior? Lol.

Sending Danford is too much.
@wb - his -26 on his career is from playing on non playoff teams. He had 4 games with Chicago before being traded to Arizona. If you want to break it down he's averaging about +2 to -3 per season. Now if he's paired with defensively sound selke players I feel he will start pumping out +5-+10 ish seasons.

Not part of this DNA change. I definitely wouldn’t be giving up Danford for Schmaltz.

Leafs are the 4th oldest team in the NHL
Leaf players over 30:
Tanev 35
Tavares 35
Jarnkrok 34
OEL 34
McCabe 32
Laughton 31
Reilly 31
Stolarz 31
Domi 30
That’s 9 players 30 or more years old.
Leafs have another 5 players who are 29 and will turn 30 this season.
What I a saying is that unless the player is truly a difference maker, Leafs should not be bringing in 30+ year old players to fill holes.
It is past time to bring younger players onto the team.

@WB a window is a window.
You can't have it both ways.
You want a young team, then rebuild.
You want a contender, then it's 28-30+.
